The Battery Programmable Brain (BPB) is a small device that attaches to your battery and uses unique microelectronic technology and patented software to continually monitor the battery power, health and temperature.

 

When the BPB detects power falling below safe levels (11.8 V by default), it automatically disconnect the battery from the electrical system. This insures that the battery will always have enough power to start the engine,

This also prolongs battery life by preventing damage due to excessive discharge.

 

Can also disconnect the battery on demand simply by pushing a button, providing an anti-theft device when leaving the vehicle as it cannot be started or hot-wired while the Battery is disconnected from the electrical system.

  • Information

    The BP type 4 unit can easily be installed to protect any battery such as: Lithium Ion batteries, lead acid batteries or any other type of batteries to ensure that the battery will not drain.

    The BPB uses unique micro-electronic technology and patented software to continually monitor the battery power, health and temperature. When the BPB detects the power level drops below a predefined safe level, it automatically isolates the battery from the electrical system.

    This will ensure that the battery always has enough power to start the engine and the battery operates in a "safe zone" which prolongs the battery life. BPB Type 4 provide the ability to disconnect the battery willingly (This option is useful when living the vehicle unused for long periods of time).

    The BPB Type 4 unit is used for both vehicles and boats and can be incorporated for storage of energy from wind and solar plants.  It works on 6V, 12V and 24V batteries.

  • Safety Warning

    When working with lead acid batteries and accessories, caution must be employed:

    • Shield eyes. Do not open vent caps or puncture battery casing in any way.
    • Sulfuric acid can cause blindness and severe burns.
    • Rinse hands and flush eyes with water immediately.
    • Avoid sparks, flames and smoking

  • Default Settings

    • Low Voltage Disconnect point (Default): 11.8 V. (can be changed using STRS Energy Programmer; disconnecting voltage is changeable in increments of 0.1V between 9V to 32V).
       
    • Countdown to disconnect (Default): 30 sec. (the device will disconnect at the end of this countdown; It can be changed using STRSEnergy Programmer from, 1sec to 600 sec).

     

    • Voltage reconnect point (Default): 13.0 V. Countdown to reconnect 1 sec. (It can be changed using STRSEnergy Programmer).          

     

    • “Dynamic Disconnect” (Default): OFF. (this func’ monitors the health of the battery and compensate for poor battery condition by changing the disconnecting point. To read more see page “Dynamic Disconnect”).

     

    • “ERD sensitivity” (Default): OFF. (To read more see page “ERD sensitivity”).

     

    • Push button disconnect (Default): ENABLE

     

    • “1st Temp Correction point” (Default): 0°C. (It can be changed using STRSEnergy Programmer, Temp’ point is changeable in increments of 1°C between -40°C to 40°C). (To read more see page “Temp Correction”).

     

    • 1st “Voltage step up Correction” (Default):  0.01 V (at low Temperature (“1st Temp Correction point” (Default): 0°C), disconnecting point will increase by that value to compensate for battery performance at low temperatures; the voltage step up can be changed using STRSEnergy Programmer, in increments of 0.01V between -2V to +2V).
       
    • “2nd Temp Correction point” (Default): -10°C. (It can be changed using STRSEnergy Programmer, Temp’ point is changeable in increments of 1°C between -40°C to 0°C).

     

    • 2nd  “Voltage step up Corrections” (Default):  0.02 V (at low Temperature (“2nd  Temp Correct point" (Default): -10°C.), disconnecting point will increase by that value to compensate for battery performance at low temperatures; the voltage step up can be changed using STRSEnergy Programmer, in increments of 0.01V between 0V to +2V).
